Andy Sloan, the Tunnels Executive Director of COWI UK, backs the proposed undersea road tunnels between the Western Isles and the mainland Scotland. The 27 km long tunnels were proposed by the Scottish government back in April.

Sloan likens the proposed tunnels to those implemented in Danish colony of Faroe Islands. 11 km long undersea tunnels between the islands there have increased the connectivity and the livability of the islands.

COWI UK is the UK branch of Danish infrastructure group COWI.
