Vassbakk & Stol a company owned by Skanska gets the contract to buiuld FV 500 Folgefonn tunnel:

Vassbakk & Stol has signed a contract with Vestland County Municipality for the construction of the FV 500 Folgefonn tunnel - Årsnes in Kvinnherad Municipality. The contract has a value of NOK 335 million.

Fv 500 Folgefonn tunnel - Årsnes is a priority landslide protection project. The project includes a section of 22 km where a 1400 meter landslide protection tunnel will be built, as well as selected plots on the section will be improved and the road width increased.

The project is carried out as an interaction contract. Over the past year, the client and contractor have carried out an interaction phase in which the project has been optimized. The project is now entering the implementation phase and the contract signed has a value of NOK 335 million.

- It has been very instructive to be allowed to participate in the implementation of the first road project in western Norway, where competitive dialogue and interaction has been used in the procurement phase. We have had a close and good dialogue with the county in the development phase. This is an important project for the local community and we are now looking forward to embarking on the actual work of securing this landslide-prone section, says Inge Jan Thorsen, CEO of Vasbakk & Stol.

Construction will start in October 2021 and the contract work will be completed in February 2024. Vassbakk & Stol will collaborate with Skanska Anlegg region Transport and Energy in the implementation of the assignment.

Vassbakk & Stol is a wholly owned subsidiary of Skanska Norge AS. The contract of NOK 335 million is included in the order backlog for Skanska in the Nordic region for the fourth quarter of 2021.
