Bids invited for construction of 21km tunnel for Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train [Package No. MAHSR-C-2]

    NHSRCL (The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited) has called for bids to construct a 21 km long tunnel of which 7 kilometers will be undersea. The tunnel will be between Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) underground station and Shilphata in the State of Maharashtra. The tunnel will be a single tube twin-track tunnel with a diameter of 13.1m.

    For tunnelling, the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM) methods will be employed.

    Work is financed with a loan received from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
