Colombia’s national roads institute (Invías) awarded an almost half a billion pesos ($496,300 million) contract to the Antioquia al Mar Consortium. The contract is for the electromechanical works for  Túnel del Toyo (Túnel Guillermo Gaviria Echeverri).

The Toyo Tunnel is It is the longest highway tunnel in America with a total of 9.73 kilometers and lies in the north of the Colombian Department of Antioquia, almost 100 kilometers away from Medellín, the second largest city of Colombia.

El Colombiano writes that the awarding of the contract to the consortium is controversial. This is because one of the three companies part of the consortium, , namely Infraestructuras Comsa Colombia SAS, has a commercial registration of only one year old. Also has capital less than $ 100 million. Even more interestingly, the company has only one employee who is the legal representative. Other companies of the consortium are Disico SA and Ingeniería y Telematica G&C SAS.

Work includes the installation of the lighting system, ventilation systems, fire protection system etc. etc.
