On the central section of the Troitskaya metro line began to build a second tunnel.

Its length will be about 2.5 kilometers.

On the central section of the future Troitskaya metro line, they began to lay a second tunnel. The work is being carried out with the help of the Olga tunnel-boring shield, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Moscow Mayor for Urban Planning and Construction.

“The construction of the right-hand running tunnel between the future Vavilovskaya and Akademicheskaya stations of the central section of the Troitskaya metro line has been launched. The length of the tunnel will be about 2.5 kilometers,” Andrey Bochkarev said.

As the deputy mayor noted, at the Vavilovskaya station, from where the shield began to work, excavation work is in full swing and monolithic work will soon begin.

“At the other two stations of the site, Akademicheskaya and Krymskaya, the removal of utilities from the construction zone and the installation of enclosing structures continue,” Andrey Bochkarev specified.

According to Yury Kravtsov, Director General of JSC Mosinzhproekt, the route of the right-hand running tunnel will run along Leninsky Prospekt and Dmitry Ulyanov Street, under Vavilov Street and the facilities of the existing metro. The left distillation tunnel between the stations is being built by the Marina shield.

Previously, the Olga shield was used for the construction of an inter-terminal baggage delivery passage under the runway of Sheremetyevo Airport and for tunneling the Big Circle Line of the metro.

The central section of the Troitskaya metro line will ensure a tighter integration of the new branch into the transport system. It will create additional transfers to the platforms of the subway and the Moscow Central Circle. The total length of the line will be about 40 kilometers. More than one million people live, work and study near the stations of the Troitskaya line.
