East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project progress has reached 29%. Project is built by China Communications Construction Company Ltd (CCCC).

16.39 kilometer Genting Tunnel is the most important tunnel in this project which has 59 tunnels. Tunnel is twin-bore tunnel. The TBMs were manufactured by the China Communications Constructions Company (CCCC) Tianhe Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing Co Ltd in Shanghai, China and they were custom made for use in hard rock conditions. They have excavation diameter of around 9 meters.

The 665km-long ECRL, which is scheduled for completion by December 2026, will traverse the East coast states of Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang, and link the Klang Valley in the process.
