Russia : Breakthrough at the southern tunnel of the Eastern Exit in Ufa

Prufy and other news sources share the news shared in social media by head of the Bashkiria region Khabirov. Khabirow wrote that there is breakthrough at south tunnel, from Salavat Yulaev Avenue to the banks of the Belaya River. Khabirov wrote by the end of the 2022, technical readiness should reach 58% and more than 2000 people work for the Eastern Exit project.

The Eastern Exit project will connect the federal highways M-5 and M-7. It involves building a 1276 m. long tunnel, a 2,7 km long bridge over the Ufa Riverand a 10km long highway.

It's construction started in 1992 and then stalled. Project has restarted but this time with different contractors. A joint venture of Turkish company Limak and Bashkir company Marashstroy started the work in the fall of 2019 and progress is very fast.
