Korea Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on 27 February it will organize and operate an advisory committee for promoting deep underground highways to review and collect expert opinions.

Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (Minister Won Hee-ryong) ) announced that it would organize and operate the 'Deep Underground Expressway Promotion Advisory Committee (hereafter referred to as the Advisory Committee)' to closely review and collect opinions from experts on major issues that arise in the process of promoting the deep underground expressway project in Gyeongin and Gyeongbu. 

• The Advisory Committee will be in charge of advisory roles on matters requiring review in the overall project promotion, such as planning, design, and construction of underground expressways, matters related to operation of underground expressways, and institutional amendments such as underground expressway design guidelines. [Main matters to be reviewed by the Advisory Committee] 
• Overall matters related to project promotion, such as planning, design, and construction of deep underground expressways
• Plans for operating underground expressways 
• Measures to strengthen stability of underground expressways ㅇ Review of institutional amendments such as design guidelines It was composed of 42 experts in six fields with high expertise by receiving recommendations from academic societies and professional organizations in each field.
• A total of 6 fields: ground, tunnel, road traffic, disaster prevention, firefighting, and psychology/psychology
