Colombia: INVÍAS began access paving works to the Guillermo Gaviria Echeverri tunnel

    Colombia’s national roads institute (Invías) began with the paving of the access road to INVÍAS Túnel del Toyo (Túnel Guillermo Gaviria Echeverri).

    Bogotá, February 25, 2022. The National Roads Institute, Invías, began the paving work of the access roads to the Guillermo Gaviria Echeverri tunnel, which aims to connect Medellín with the Urabá Antioquia, in efficient conditions of mobility.

    The paving works cover 2.5 km of the 6.9 km of open sky that are executed in sector 1, where the entity also carries out the construction of 1 bridge and 5 tunnels, in an extension of 10, 3 km long. It should be noted that the institute performs work in two sectors that add up to 19.4 km extension. In sector 2 (9.1 km of extension) builds 12 bridges, 6 short tunnels and 3 false tunnels. The investments of this project in which the Invías is also in charge of the installation of electromechanical equipment, which benefit the department of Antioquia and the center of the country, total $ 1.4 billion.

    Through these works the government works for a society with greater mobility options in the regions for the equity of its people.
