A new hope for the abandoned construction of Incahuasi tunnel.

The Bolivian Highway Administrator (ABC) assigns the company Contratos Mineros e Inversiones SAC to complete the construction of Incahuasi tunnel. Contract value of Bs 135,740.331 is below the budget of Bs 173,247,001. Last year supervision of construction work was assigned to Incahuasi Accidental Association for Bs 8 million.

The Incahuasi Tunnel is 1260 meter long. It is second longest tunnel in Bolivia. It lies on 96km Monteagudo-Ipati highway project. It is a very important highway to connect the regions of Santa Cruz and Chuquisaca.

The tunnel construction work began in 2015 and had to conclude in 2017. But the then-contractor  the Argentine company José Cartellone ran into financial problems and abandoned the project.
