DPP ('Prague Public Transit Company' or ' Dopravní podnik hl. m. Prahy' in Czech language) have released the following press release:

Prague, 25 April 2023 - About a year ago, the Prague Public Transport Company began. City of Prague (DPP) with the construction of the first section of the DP Pankrác - Olbrachtov metro. A total of 1.6 kilometers of tunnels is currently stamped. The first 520 meters of tunnels were created during a geological survey and more than a kilometer, exactly 1,082 meters, contractors, a consortium of Subterra, Hochtief CZ and Strabag, set off since the construction. DPP invested nearly CZK 1.8 billion in the construction of metro D last year and this year. The mints on the first section of the metro D will take place for less than three years, roughly until the turn of 2025 and 2026. The opening of the second section from Olbrachtov to Nové Dvory DPP assumes this autumn.

On Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in Neveklovská Street, DPP, in cooperation with the contractors, will also open the public information center, which will be available every Wednesday at 2 pm to 5 pm. It will serve especially for citizens who do not have access to the Internet, e-mail and metro website D (http://www.dpp.cz/metro-d). The construction manager of the contractors will answer questions about the first section of the DC Pankrác - Olbracht metro. The information center will be available visualizations of the entire construction of the first section of the metro D, including both stations and other information materials for current construction.

“The construction of the metro D is not only one of the priorities of the new leadership of the Prague Town Hall, but undoubtedly the largest transport project in the metropolis in this decade. The first about 1.6 kilometers of tunnels and galleries are already stamped, the next meters and kilometers will hopefully grow quickly, ”says Bohuslav Svoboda, Mayor of Hl. m. Prague.

“Metro D is undoubtedly the largest investment of this century in Prague. It is an investment in the future of Prague transport. If everything goes, as it should be, the first passengers in autonomous cars without driver, I will pass at the end of 2029. We have already stamped 1.6 km of new metro tunnels. 17 831 m3 of concrete used. It is a great honor for me that I had the honor of supporting its construction in the last parliamentary term and starting it as mayor and now I continue the role of the Deputy for Transport with the current Council. I thank everyone for the respectable and hard work that he does daily. We put the déčko in a decade! I made this sentence at the start of a geological survey and still pay. At the same time, a new information center opens, where anyone who is interested in Metro D will learn all the necessary information, ”adds Zdeněk Hřib, 1st Deputy Mayor of Prague. City for Transport and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DPP.

“Prague takes the construction of Déčka as an opportunity. We did a lot of work to coordinate the territory above the emerging stations, which are an epicenter of development. On Nové Dvory we are preparing to build a short distance city district with 2,000 thousand apartments, schools, kindergartens and a cultural center. My thanks go mainly to builders. Frame God! ”Adds Petr Hlaváček, Deputy Mayor of Prague. City for territorial and strategic development.

“Prague needs quality and available public transport. Therefore, we committed ourselves to continue in massive investments in its development. One such investment of the future of Prague's transport is Metro D. We will clearly strive to co -finance this building by the state, as is the case in Munich, Vienna or Budapest. It is a fundamental building of national importance, which will help significantly reduce traffic emissions and thus relieve the environment for a long time, ”says Jana Komrsková, Deputy Mayor of Prague. City for the Environmental and Climate Plan.

“It is great to see how other meters of tunnels are growing every month and the construction of the first metro section D is gaining momentum. It will be for less than three years and in the total there is at least the same portion of adits, but mainly the excavation of both stations and digging their vestibules. We are about halfway through the length, but on the volume of about a quarter of the first section of the metro D. We look further, we would like to complete the public contract as soon as possible for the construction of the second section from the Olbrachtova station to Nové Dvory and started building this autumn. At the same time, we are working intensively on a project of automation of route C and preparing a public contract for the purchase of automatic trains and transport system. I am glad that the construction of the new D route, thanks to the significant support of the city management, was able to move more than four years ago. It is the result of joint demanding work and all, including all our predecessors who have contributed and contribute to the work, are a big thanks, ”says Petr Witowski, Chairman of the Board of Directors and DPP CEO.

“The year of work on the new D Prague metro invites you to look back. I would write number one in the annual report card. The construction consortium is doing well and this exceptional building continues to successfully. Subterra appreciates the fact that it is building a subway again and after many years. Ondřej Fuchs, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Subterra.

“Hochtief has been building the world of tomorrow for 150 years. And the construction of the D Prague metro line is a project that fully fulfills our motto. Thanks to colleagues and partners in the association, we proceed in advance despite all the demanding challenges that the project of similar extent and meaning brings. I believe that in the same spirit, work will be done in the coming years, ”says Tomáš Koranda, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hochtief CZ.

“When building the Olbrachtov metro station, we had to perform the necessary relocations of many engineering networks - from optical cables to sewerage to water pipes before starting the shaft. A total of 5,000 meters of engineering networks were implemented and another 5,000 meters await us in the area of the future southern vestibule, where the work has currently requested the traffic closure of Na Strža Street, for which we apologize to the locals. At the northern vestibule, with regard to the nearby buildings, we built a noise barrier last year, in which a portal crane with a load capacity of 40 tons is placed. Now we are 33.5 m below the surface and in the near future we will start to mint the northern jumper of the station and the station tunnels themselves. We plan to start the pit for the southern vestibule in the middle of this year. In addition to traditional technologies, we use modern methods of machine guidance, digital tools and platforms. It is worth mentioning tools such as laser scanner, UAV, 3D modeling and digital platforms for sharing and visualization of outputs that help us increase the efficiency of work, ”concludes Pavel Brychcin, member of the Board of Strabag.

What we managed to realize in the first year of metro construction in individual locations:

Pad1b = Pankrác d 1b (at the raid from the street on the ravine towards the highway, ie to the street 5 May)

Subterra set out 174 meters of access tunnel, which will be used in the next stage for the stamping of the Pankrác D station itself. The excavation continued with a 50 -meter -long turn to the station technology rooms, specifically air -conditioning, where the contractor completed the technology block of the North in the length of 50 meters. The excavations overcame one of the most complex sections in the immediate vicinity of the bridge on the 5th May street leading above the street of the Association. They are currently located under the Enterprise Office Center. Currently, Subterra is going to the technological jumper towards the future tunnel of turnover tracks, currently it is stamped more than 26 meters. In the summer in this locality, the embossing of the tunnel itself will begin, on both sides, both towards Krč and towards the Square of the Synků brothers.

Pad2 = Pankrác D 2 (at the Arcade OC, at the intersection of Na Strža and Pankrác streets)

At this construction site Subterra has relocated utilities (relocation of low -voltage lines, mined relocations of sewerage, water relocations) necessary for the realization of building pits for transfer vestibule between lines C and D and for exit to the surface. The last step includes a complicated relocation of the backbone hot water pipeline. After its completion, the construction pit of the transfer between routes C and D will be initiated at the beginning of 2024, where the contractors managed to realize part of the Negings of the Future Building Pit in advance. At the beginning of this year's summer holidays, Subterra will begin with the realization of a construction pit for the construction of a direct output from the Pankrác D station towards the surface of the Arcade.

Pad4 = Pankrác D 4 (at the Czech Post building, at the intersection of Na Strža and Budějovická streets)

Subterra has made grouting from the gallery built during a geological survey. The construction of three shafts, which will be used for compensatory grouting providing commercial and administering building Nola on Budejovická Street, continues. At present, nearly 50 meters of shafts are excavated and more than 6.6 kilometers of boreholes for grouting, in which the builders used more than 926 tons of reinforcement mixtures. Completion of compensatory grouting at this construction site is a condition for continuing the tension of a double-track tunnel and unraveling the parking tunnel from the VO-Ol, which will be situated just under the Nola building. The Contractor assumes that the stabling tunnel will start next year.

Vo-ol = ventilation object Olbrachtova (in Na Strža Street near the Green Fox)

VO-Ol is the largest construction site of the first section of the metro D. The work here takes place in five places, two shafts and are realized by Subterra (one place) and Hochtief CZ (four places).

From the main shaft direction Pankrác D

The work in this section is connected to the left part of the interstation tunnel, which the contractors built here during a geological survey. Subterra has completed the strokes of the heel gallery of the future station Pankrác D in the length of 130 meters and now the station is grouting the station itself. After the completion of the grouting work of Subterra, at the end of this summer holidays, Hochtief CZ will return here and start the excavation of the right part of the two -track intermediate tunnel. In the full profile, only 85 meters are stamped in this section. In addition, in connection with the completion of the reinforcement rock grouting, the excavation will begin to unravel the weaning and the tunnel itself.

From the main shaft in the direction of Olbrachtova

The work in this section is carried out by Hochtief CZ, which completed the two -track intermediate tunnel of 175 meters after the so -called unlishes. Currently, the left single -track tunnel is treated towards the future station Olbrachtov, where it is currently stamped 236 meters and in parallel with the excavation of the right monorail tunnel, now at 98 meters. In addition, Hochtief CZ also launched from the place of future unfortunate clutch tunnel between C and D, currently stamped about the first 25 meters. By the end of the year, the Contractor will continue in this section in the stamping of the left and right monorail tunnel towards the Olbrachtov station, the excavation of the station tunnels and the clutch between the C and D.

    Air -conditioner

At the construction site, Hochtief CZ excavated the second, smaller separate shaft, from the DNA of which the air-conditioning engine room of about 85 meters, which will serve for the entire international section Pankrác D-Olbrachtova, set out. Interestingly, the first burst between two parts took place in this place as part of the metro building, between the two -track tunnel (in the direction of Olbrachtov) and the future machine air conditioning.

Ol1 = Olbrachtova 1 (at the intersection of Antala Staška and at Strža, at the Albert supermarket)

The work on both construction sites of the future station Olbrachtova is carried out by Strabag, which on the street Na Strža, in a closed section from the intersection with Antala Staška Street to the intersection with Radova Street, currently implements the relocation of utilities before the construction of the southern vestibule of Olbrachtova. These works will last until the end of this June. In the construction site at the Albert supermarket in parallel, the new sewerage is running.

During the summer holidays in the closed part of the street Na Strža will be followed by drilling pilots, the total of their lengths will be 1,300 meters and negatives in the total length of 560 meters, which will be used to secure the future construction pit. It will have two levels. Most of the southern vestibule will be relatively shallow, from six to eight meters, only a smaller part will be at a depth of about 16 meters. From this part of the vestibule it will lead to the platform of the escalator tunnel.

After completing the drilling pilots and the construction of the pilot wall, roughly at the turn of the summer and autumn of this year, the building pit itself will begin. From it, the contractors will then mint the escalator tunnel to the future platform of the station, which will be at a depth of about 31 meters below the surface.

Ol 2 = Olbrachtova 2 (at the intersection of streets Na Strz and Jeremenkova)

In this locality, Strabag has implemented relocations of more than five kilometers of utilities, pilots and negatives in the total length of almost one and a half kilometers to ensure the mining pit for the construction of the station and the northern vestibule itself. Given that the construction of the Olbrachtova station takes place near the residential development, DPP has built a protective hall above this pit, which is to maximize the propagation of noise and dust to the surroundings of the building. This gentle approach has already proved its worth during the construction of the extension of the line A, the Bořislavka station.

Currently, under the protective hall in this locality, excavation of the mining pit takes place with a new Austrian tunneling method (NRTM), currently at a depth of less than 28 meters. During the summer, the mining pit should be disrupted and its bottom will be followed by the excavation of the northern jumper between future station tunnels. After its completion during the last quarter of this year, the excavation of the station tunnels (left and right) will be followed on both directions, both towards Pankrác and in the direction of Krč.
