NRK, Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation report says the government finally opens up for the 13 kilometer long new Røldal tunnel on the E134.

The new Røldal tunnel will save the motorists going up in the snowy hills and the busy existing 4,6km Røldal tunnel.

The new Røldal tunnel has been in the National Transport Plan (NTP) already for several years. But later it was set to on-hold due to soaring costs of NOK 3,8 Billion.

But now, just two weeks before the election, the government suddenly promises funds for the project as with another tunnel project Oslofjord tunnel, also on the E134.
