People's Daily report 15.4 meter in diameter mud and water balance tunnel shield machine 'Pilot Number' launched in Hangzhou on January 27. Giant tunnel boring machine is jointly developed by China Railway Tunnel Bureau and China Railway Engineering Equipment Group.

TBM will bore 14.25 kilometers long Chongtai Yangtze River Tunnel. Deepest point is 89 meter under water. It is high speed railway tunnel and design speed is 350 kilometers/hour.
