Georgian road administration announce Batum bypass in its final phase. Cutting of all 5 tunnels finished. Covering of three tunnels finished. 19 of the 20 tunnels finished.

Batum bypass project comprised of a 14-km 2-lane asphalt-concrete road, 20 bridges and 5 tunnels. This bypass together with Kobuleti bypass will fully unload traffic in Adjara resort area. Current traffic goes through resort area and disturbing.

The project is being implemented by the Department of Roads of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, with financial support of GEL 329 630 734 of Asian Development Bank and Asian Infrastructure Infrastructure Bank. Mainly by China.
