Abandoned railway tunnel in central Finland has been sold at a record proce in auction

    The starting price for the abandoned Pöntövuori railway tunnel in Laukaa was 12 thousand euros.  But after a fierce bidding war, it found a new owner at an unexpectedly high price of 299 thousand euros. According to news, the highest price in bidding was 297,5 thousand Euros until a winning amount of 299 thousand Euros has been bidded in the last closing moment of the auction period.

    The 1,2 -kilometer Pöntövuori tunnel was built between 1914 and 1918. It was in use as railway tunnel until it was replaced by the modern tunnel in Lievestuore, Laukaa.
