Chennai CESTAT (Customs, Excise, and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal) orders the customs to pay Extra Duty Deposit (EDD) back to Herrenknecht which were levied for the Tunnel Boring Machine and Tunnel Boring Machine parts that Herrenknecht had imported to India.
The amount to be refunded to the German company is Rs. 26,79,183.
