Philippines: Ceremony held for launching of Japanese TBM for Metro Manila Subway Project
A tunnel boring machine of Metro Manila Subway Project has been launched with a ceremony. Project will see 19 Tunnel Boring Machines operating in time.
Construction is done with help of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency). Constructing company is Sumitomo Mitsui Construction.
All TBM are made-in-Japan high quality tunnel boring machines produced by JIMT (JIM Technology).
Armed Forces of the Philippines military chief General Romeo Brawner Jr. said the subway is a strategic advantage (source Manila Bulletin).
