Brazil: São Paulo subway 6-orange line excavation finishes

    Excavation of the Line 6 (Orange line) of metrô de São Paulo has been finished with the arrival of TBM Tatuzão at São Joaquim station on Sunday, February the 9th.

    This is at CNN news site for Brazil. I am giving the link below. CNN news includes the information that line 9 will be operational in the second half of 2026. Estimated cost is R$ 19 billion and 60% of works already6 completed.

    Line 6 is 15.3 km long and it will replace the current 1,5 hour bus drive on the stretch of Brasilândia neighborhood to the city center with a 23 minute subway ride.

    Excavation was not without events. On different dates three different street and surface ground collapses occurred all without any human casualties.
