Britain: Legal row halts contract signing on £1bn Silvertown Tunnel
Dutch company Royal BAM's vçtory in Silvertown tunnel is no more certain as Silver Thames Connect (STC) – a joint venture including German construction company Hochtief and Spanish Dragados and Iridium Concesiones de Infraestructuras come up with a legal challenge.
Transport for London (TfL) has been given the go-ahead to award its £1bn Silvertown Tunnel contract, after a High Court suspension order was lifted following the losing bidder and complainant consortium Silver Thames Connect (STC - Hochtieff, Dragados and Iridium Concesiones de Infraestructuras) give their consent.
They claim that the £1bn Transport for London (TfL) project is not in the interest of Londoners and argue that it contradicts Khan’s commitment to the Paris Climate Agreement.
Greens oppose the Silvertown tunnel.
