Citizens of Roma hold "funeral" for Tunnel Boring Machine Filippa, left buried netween Roman Forum and Colosseum

A ''funeral' ceremony has been held by a group of people at the Piazza Madonna di Loreto, closeby from the Altare della Patria. Precisely at the point where the Venice metro station C was to have been built..

The citizens brought together by 'Bye Bye Raggi' association had everything for a funeral. Candles and even a obituary.

The funerale is for the tunnel boring machine 'Filippa'. The reason for the funeral is because tunnel construction is cancelled halfway and they decided to left the TBM buried under Roma between Colosseum and Forum. I am sure they will not left everything there. They will of course retreive expensive components including electrical engines, control systems etc but the metal carcass is left there.

The project was cancelled half way when the project finished the money. One of the TBMs had even arrived at its destination. Reportedly it will also remain underground. Landsslides are finished.

When the archaeologists after 2000 years find TBM, what will they think?

If you don't know the story, Some time ago there was a post reporting. Unnecessarily sarcastic but OK:
