Works towards the construction of  a tunnel between the towns of Cantonaccio and Acapulco along lake of Lago Maggiore moves further. The tunnel will have one tube with a two way traffic and will be about 1500 meters long. The construction is to start in 5 years with the completion in 10 years.

Council of State is invited to make every effort to convince the Confederation "to financially support the work". According to an agreement signed with the Transport Commission (CIT) and with the Municipality of Ascona , the costs for the design of the tunnel will be split by 55% by the Canton (1,925 million out of 3.5 million), 40% from CIT and 5% from Borgo. The same division will also be followed for the construction of the tunnel, estimated today at 95 million francs, with Ascona adding another 5 million to the ordinary financing.
