Lower Thames Crossing: Tweaked Plans Will be Announced for Further Consultation

Tens of thousands of people have been consulted in 2018, over the Lower Thames Crossing and the tunnel between Kent and Essex.

Now the second level of consultations are to start for the proposed 14.3-mile route through what will be the 'longest road tunnel' in the UK.

According to Kent Online, Chris Taylor, Director of Highways England’s Complex Infrastructure Programme, says The Lower Thames Crossing is Highways England’s most ambitious scheme in 30 years and will boost the local and regional economy and the plans have been designed to reflect the public feedback and new information.
