Japan contractor to use 25 tunnel boring machines for Metro Manila Subway
Department of Transportation (DOTr) Undersecretary for Railways Timothy John Batan announcement declares 25 tunnel boring machines (TBM) will be used for excavating the 36 kilometer long Metro Manila Subway tunnels.
The Tunnel Boring Machines will be manufactured by top Japanese TBM manufacturer JIM Technology Inc. The first JIMT TBM will arrive in Philippines in August 2020.
JIM Technology Corporation is a tremendous TBM company of Japan.

Together with representatives of the Japanese contractor, Shimizu Corporation, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), a presentation was made showcasing the TBMs timeline and how it will help accelerate the construction of MMSP.
Some things go good but not everything. Metro Manila subway construction has been delayed for another ten months.

Two more Japanese Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) has arrived in the Philippines to be used in the construction of the Metro Manila Subway Project.
In a statement, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said the two TBMs arrived on Thursday, April 22nd which they named TBM Kaunlaran (TBM prosperity) and TBM Perlas ng Silangan (TBM pearl of the east).
