Second Phase of Jakarta MRT Construction to be Completed only in 2024
"Due to the challenging track conditions" and "because this line passed through the cultural preservation" phase II of Jakarta MRT from the HI Roundabout to the Kota Station is targeted for completion in 2024. Jakarta MRT President Director William Sabandar said it when he signed the contract with the Shimizu-Adhi Karya Consortium
2024 is 58 months. Only for a tunnel of 2.8 kilometer.

Gegara Corona, Phase 2 Jakarta MRT construction work for CP201 work package postponed until June 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic. Some workers are from Japan.
Delay shifted operational target from 2025 to March 2026 said PT MRT President Director Jakara William Sabandar. Also CP202 to CP207 contract packages will be effected.
Phase 2 development consists of two stages, phase 2A which includes a main route of about 5.8 kilometers with six underground stations.The main line construction consists of CP201, CP202 (Harmoni Station, two tunnels to Sawah Besar Station, Sawah Besar Station, two tunnels to Mangga Besar Station, and Mangga Besar Station), CP203 (two tunnels to Glodok Station, Glodok Station, two tunnels to City Station, and City Station).
Phase 2B is still in the feasibility study stage and consists of Kota Station, Mangga Dua, Gunung Sahari, and Ancol to Depo in West Ancol around 5.2 kilometers.
