CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture (CYP D&C) has been contracted to design and build the tunnels and stations for the Metro Tunnel Project.

CYP D&C brings together three of Australia's leading construction partners John Holland, Lendlease, and Bouygues Construction.

The Metro Tunnel Project will untangle the City Loop by taking three of Melbourne’s busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city. It will create a new end-to-end train line from Sunbury to Cranbourne/Pakenham, with twin nine-kilometre tunnels and five new underground stations at Arden (to be renamed North Melbourne), Parkville, Anzac, and two new CBD stations - State Library and Town Hall - which will directly connect to the City Loop.

We are recruiting for a TBM Supervisor who will be the primary means for information exchange between the operational team and the Project Management team with regards to the operation of the TBM, on this iconic Melbourne project.

Responsibilities of the role include;

    Monitor the productivity of the Tunnel Boring Machine and support system, and logistics.
    Build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive and professional communication to keep key personnel informed.
    dedicate a significant proportion of time to the continued and ongoing training of all TBM crew members
    Maximise progress and project achievements.  Identify problem areas and investigate corrective actions
    Provide leadership in risk management, identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and build a risk management culture.
    Coordinate all works with Cross Passage & Lining and Station construction teams
    Assist appropriate Tunnel Foreman, Section Managers in the planning, coordination and implementation of project works
    Assist in identifying and meeting the training and development needs of field staff
    Allocate responsibility for work being undertaken
    Develop a culture of active safety participation amongst all employees and lead by example

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

    Minimum 5 years previous construction experience in a similar role within tunnels.
    Experience in industry relevant trade and construction operations of similar scale.
    People and performance management of subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour.
    Skill in review of design documentation, ability to understand drawings, provide constructability review and implement final design plans.
    Safety and environment management, resource management and construction program and methodology.
