China Tunnel Company finish patent design tunnel on 1000 km China-Laos railway
The Jingkuan No.2 Tunnel, about 4.6 km long, is located in Jinghong City of Yunnan.
The tunnel technology patent design with a super-large exit has a 80-meter stretch with fault surface of 249 square meters. The design is to reserve connection conditions for the future expansion with a new railway line.

Xinping Tunnel, a key control project of the China-Laos Kun-Wan Railway, opened on 26 April. Construction continued 4 years.
Tunnel is about 14.8 kilometers long. It is Xinping County, Yuxi City, Yunnan Province. Tunnel in many deep and large fault zones, extremely difficult. The tunnel opened 13 auxiliary tunnels, with a maximum of 29 working surfaces being constructed at the same time. "Through the 'long tunnel short hit' method, the technical difficulty of construction is reduced"

Xinhua report China-Laos railway 414.332-km with 198-km tunnels and 62-km bridges, will run from Boten border gate in northern Laos, bordering China, to Vientiane with an operating speed of 160 km per hour.
