Tunnelling complete on Perth's $1.86B Forrestfield-Airport Link project
Sandy the TBM too, breaksthrough at Bayswater dive structure. Sandy is ahead of the original estimate of May. This marks the end of boring for the Forrestfield-Airport Link, part of the Metronet project in Western Australia.
Boring of the 16 kilometres of tunnels, 8 in direction,under the Swan river and the Perth Airport took around 900 days and completed with 9000 rings.
"While Western Australia has been grappling with COVID-19, TBM Sandy and the project team have been continuing to work on this incredible project for Pert".
