First time in Korea, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport signed 12 smart road management system sharing agreements. Gangwon-do decided to mutually support technology, information, and human resources for the smart road management system (RMS) established by the government for over 30 years, and in 2019, Gyeonggi-do (landslide management) and Jeju-do (road pavement management) were applied to some systems. However, the agreement is the first in the nation to share all 12 systems.

For systematic management of road pavement, slopes, bridges, and tunnels, 12 types of maintenance systems are operated together with specialized organizations such as the Korea Institute of Construction Technology.

It is estimated that it is possible to systematically manage roads on a prevention based manner.
