California plans to build a 13.5-mile tunnel for the High-Speed Rail to San Franscisco Bay Area

    California’s High-Speed Rail Authority has plans for 13.5-mile long twin tunnels through the Pacheco Pass. There are also some additional shorter tunnels planned.

    Some raise concerns about tunneling under the Pacheco Pass. They say the tunnel must cross an active seismic fault and in general concerned about the difficulty of tunneling due to the geology of the area. 

    All this provided that the funding is arranged
