DP: St Petersburg city drops the funding for the entire metro construction to 9 billion rubles. This is 4.8 billion ruble reduction.

This is problem for Orange metro line construction. If no money comes, Metrostroy may stop construction on 1 July. City vice-governors Maxim Sokolov and Eduard Batanov will meet to talk what to do. They are aware of Metrostroy warning.

Sounds like a bad joke

It is funny. they said "we have 60% of the money", it will be a 60% subway".

This kind of problem happens in big project. Remember tunnel boring machines abandoned under the city of Rome in Italy half a year ago?

There is nothing funny actually. It is usual budget cutting due to COVID-19. Just like at London Underground case a few days ago.

Operators are loosing money. There is indeed no money to invest. This should concern all of us really.
