Bane NOR announces a big overhaul work for Bergen's Ulriken tunnel
Bane NOR (Norwegian company for railways) is going to do a lot of improvements on the old Ulriken tunnel after the new Ulriken tunnel is operational.
The old tunnel from 1964 will be adapted with some blasting to acommodate the double track along with upgrading it to 2020s technology. A lot of changes it is. All is expected to take 2.5 years after the work starts in 2021 following the new tunnel going into operation in December/2020.
