India's Central Institute of Mining & Fuel Research (CIMFR) scientists conduct tests simulating Tunnel Boring Machine vibrations. They do this to measure and limit the damage TBM operation may cause on Mudflat and migratory bird sanctuaries in the route of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project. Most of the 21 km long trajectory of the railway is under the mangroves marshland which is sanctuary to a lot of birds.

CIMFT Scientists have simulated the vibrations and noise caused by the tunnel boring machine and set limits for the trust force once the real tunnelling starts.
