Straževica tunnels left tube is 733 metre long. The right tunnel of Straževica tunnel on the bypass around Belgrade is already in operation for two way traffic since 2012.

Minister of Construction, Serbia's Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlović reminded NATO aggression (bombardments) on right tube of Straževica tunnel in 1999. She said despite many bombs some as big as 2,4 tonne, under-construction right tube of Straževica tunnel was not collapsed. She said that now left tunnel breakthrough has important symbolism because of that.

Main contractor of the new bypass roads, bridges and tunnel is Chinese "Power Tea Construction Corporation", and the subcontractor is the Azerbaijani Azvirt.
