Philippines Government secures a loan from  Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The loan amounts to $2.35 billion (P117.8 billion) and it is low interest.

Money will also cover the construction of a 2.3km tunnel as a part of the Mindanao project. Japanese technology will be used for the bypass road and the tunnel.

Infrastructure boom of Philippines is fueled by President Duarte's Build-Build-Build initiative.
