Switzerland's Ticino region is looking for cheaper alternative to a Alta Vallemaggia - Leventina link
A proposal for a 7 kilometer long base tunnel between Fusio and Rhodes to connect the Alta Vallemaggia and Leventina had been rejected for cost and environment concerns. Local authorities are looking for a cheaper alternative. A high altitude tunnel is one of the proposed solutions.
