The most difficult parts of the Tesalia Tunnel (Túnel de Tesalia) has been passed through. Tunneling had to be done through 4 geological faults. 3,493 meter-long Tesalia Tunnel has between 700-900 workers (varying during the project) working 24/7.

 

When completed, the tunnel will serve 7000 vehicles per day. It consists of a main tunnel and an emergency gallery. The tunnel is being built as part of the Pacífico Tres.
