President Iván Duque Márquez has signed the document of the Superior Council of Fiscal Policy (Confis) to commit the construction of light rail 80 and the section 2 of the Toyo Tunnel.

According to the document, the Colombian government will pay for the 70% of the costs ($ 2.47 billion) and the Municipality will pay the 30% ($ 1,062 billion). For the second part of the Toyo Tunnel, $ 1.4 billion is committed for the Santa Fe de Antioquia-tunnel opening section.

This is important news for the Antioquia region, as well as its capital Medellin. The 13,25 kilometers long light rail line and the 9,82 kilometer Toyo Tunnel construction will stimulate the economy both in construction and later.
