Iceland opens the Dýrafjarðargöng tunnel whose construction started in 2017. The 5.6 km long tunnel connects Arnarfjörður and Dýrafjörður, shortening the route by 27 km.
The main contractors of the tunnel were Icelandic company Suðurverk and Czech company Metrostav.
