China start construction world's longest subsea road tunnel Second Jiaozhou Bay Tunnel
China start construction Second Jiaozhou Bay Tunnel project on October 29. Inform xinhuanet agency. Tunnel will bind two sides of Qingdao (Huangdao district) under Jiaozhou Bay. There is first tunnel.
Tunnel two way 6 lane road tunnel. It also with additional service tunnel.
Second Jiaozhou Bay Tunnel is 15.89 kilometers long. It is longer than current World longest road subsea tunnel Norway Ryfylke tunnel (14.3 kilometers).
Xinhuanet write "amount of eexcavation exceeds 8 million cubic meters, more than Japan Seikan Undersea Tunnel (5.2 million cubic meters) and England-France Tunnel (4.8 million cubic meters).
