A whistleblower informs the authorities that the water leakes in the Singoli-Bhatwari hydroelectric power plant in Rudraprayag may lead to disaster. The company who built the tunnel and declared it, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) says these claims are baseless.
This is not the first time that the Larsen & Toubro is facing criticism over the quality of the work it does. In another project, Bengaluru's Namma Metro tunnelling between Shivajinagar and Cantonment drew criticism after segments cracked and water leakeges appeared. 25% of the segments had reportedly cracked.
