European funds of €49.2 million have been approved from the Cohesion Fund for the upgrade of the Karavanke railway tunnel. The rest of the € 79.3 million project is jointly financed by the Austria and Slovenia governments to improve safety and technical conditions in the Karavanke tunnel, enable higher traffic speeds.
