Metro Warsaw 2nd Line: TBM bored first tunnel

    Boring of one of the tubes of the Metro Warsaw's Bemowo extension (Metro Warsaw 2nd Line) is done report Transport Publiczny.

    Boring had started on 27 July. TBM Krystyna bored 1,369 m. laid 900 rings.

    TBM Krystyna breakthrough came at Księcia C6 Janusz (Prince Janusz) and C4 Powstańców Śląskich route.

    The second TBM which bores the second parallel tube already did breakthrough a week ago at C5 Ulrychów station. After inspections it will also reach C6 Prince Janusz station. For that, it should bore 372 metres.

    Western part of Metro Warsaw 2nd line is around 2 km long. It has 2 stations. C5 Ulrychów and at Bernowo

    C4 Powstańców Śląskich station.

    Original plan is finish date of November 2021. But coronavirus impacted a lot. Contractor asked for additional 8 months.
