I support Antalya, Turkey for WTC2023 simply because I know there are many Turkish companies specialized in tunnel construction. They are also active in India. Say Gulermak, say Dogus and others.

I like Greece but for the ITA AITES World Tunnel Congress, it is #Antalya. Definitely.

Turkey has a very dynamic tunnelling environment. And Antalya is a great Mediterranean resort. But mainly for the tunnelling environment of Turkey, I choose Antalya.

      What happened to Cancun?

It would be held in 2022, No?

Wasn't WTC2023 be held in Cancun after WTC Copenhagen is postponed to 2022?

      regards

I couldn't care really. I would take Rio on any given day.

      Hi all,

The rational choice is indeed Antalya, Turkey as far as the tunnelling is concerned.

OK, my vote is for Antalya.

Antalya Turkey for WTC2023 is the logical choice.

There are a lot of tunnelling projects in Turkey, but I have not heard any from Greece lately.

      WTC2023 ANTALYA, TURKEY!

I assure you that Turkey is a great place to talk tunneling. It is very exciting country also for tunnels. Many tunnels close to 100 in building and many more planned. Turkey has many mountains. It is a perfect tunnel place.

I also assure Antalya is a place you must see in this world. It has incredible historical sites, incredible beaches and incredible infrastructure.

Come to Antalya and enjoy the world famous Turkish hospitality!

It is naive to think that ITA General Assembly members will cast their votes thinking which country has the best tunneling environment or potential, if you like.

All due respect, I do not think they care about it. They will vote for their friends. Most of the delegates are from the western countries and they will definitely favor Greece. All that wining and dining and old friendships will decide the choice. Not "what is best for tunneling".

I have no preference between these two cities but I know that Athens will win for the reasons I mentioned.

      Have a good day.

For a city-trip, I would choose Athens over Antalya.

But for the tunnelling conference, Athens is a bad choice. Only if ITA GA members used their brains...
