Bane NOR cancels the planning work for a new double track in a tunnel from Oslo S to Lysaker. This is an unfortunate cancellation says Jon Sandnes, CEO of the BNL ( Byggenæringens Landsforening - in English The Federation of Norwegian Construction Industries ), a business and employer policy organization for companies in the construction industry.

Sandnes says it is curious that Bane NOR cancels the contract despite the fact that NOK 150 million has already been reserved for planning in 2021 state budget. He says the project would be important for Oslo which has a railway traffic bottleneck.

Meanwhile Norway's Minister of Transport and Communications will be talking with the Norwegian Directorate of Railways and Bane NOR to clarify the matter of the cancellation.

Sandnes ses it is not acceptable that Bane Nor and the Norwegian Railway Directorate are unable to reach an agreement, and it is expected the Minister of Transport and Communications to clean up this now.
