    Oslo new raw water tunnel

Evaluation of the bids for the tender for Oslo's new raw water tunnel tender has been delayed again according to Bygge (an important construction business publication in Norway). The latest deadline for the announcement of the winner was end February but it did not come. Postponement of the original offer date has been quoted as one of the reasons for awarding the delay. There said to be good interest in the tender.

The water tunel will be 19,5 kilometer long and will be bored by two tunnel boring machines. TBM method is said to contributing factor to bidding interest.

This will be the second important contract that will be awarded for the NOK 1.9 billion project. The first major contract 'E8 preparatory work' which comprised of blasting of mountain halls and construction of 3 tunnels total 5 kilometers had been awarded to Skanska.
