Mumbai MMRC achieve 37th breakthrough on Line 3

    The 37th breakthrough of Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has been achieved on 22 April. The Tunnel Boring Machine Surya-2 has made the breakthrough at CSMT station. On Line 3 construction  there will be total 41 breakthroughs.

    The boring of 569m long stretch from Hutatma Chowk to CSMT Metro Station took 106 days.

    Mumbai Metro Line 3 is a 33.5 kilometer long tunnel stretching Colaba - Bandra - Seepz. As per Package UGC-01, the Line 3 is being constructed by a consortium of Indian Larsen & Toubro and China's Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Company.
