    Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) says the selection of the design-build contractor for Maryland's Purple Line Light Rail has been postponed fall instead of June as expected, writes Bethesda Magazine.

    There are three teams competing for the $2 Billion project shortlisted by the Purple Line Transit Partners (PLTP), the private consortium overseeing development of the 16-mile Maryland Purple Line light rail system.

    They are:

    • Halmar International;

    • Maryland Transit Solutions (comprised of Dragados USA Inc. and OHL USA Inc.); and

    • Tutor-Perini/Lunda, a Joint Venture.
