The Coquimbo Region elected a new mayor. The winner is Krist Naranjo, an independent candidate for the Ecologists and Independents pact, who stated that the Agua Negra Tunnel "is not a priority".  In her opinion, this work benefits neighboring countries such as Argentina or Brazil more than the region.
