Greece announces the construction of a 1,6 billion euro metro line in Athens

Greece's prime minister Mitsotakis announces new Metro Line 4 for Athens. It will be almost 13 km long (main tunnel 10,1km long) with 15 stations.

The new metro line will be jointly financed by the European Union (EU) and Greece.

Two Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) will be used for tunnel construction.

The new Line 4 of the Athens metro will cover nearly 13 km from Alsos Veikou in Galatsi to Goudi, serving Athens' central municipalites of Galatsi, Kessariani and Zografou.
