The tender for the design of the Panama Metro Line 3 across the Panama canal has been temporarily suspended. The suspension by the General Directorate of Public Procurement (DGCP) came after the claim by the Aecom-Sener consortium, one of the three groups competing to win the $13 million contract.

Aecom-Sener raised the objection that the evaluation commission did not take into account the experience of the consortium members in in similar projects in Mexico and China.
